Character Slot Choices
Hello everyone,
Im coming back from about a 3 month long break, and realizing that I have an open character slot. I figure I might as well fill it with a level 20 character because its useless just sitting there... So here's my question. I havent payed attention to any buffs or nerfs or anything that has happened, so what proffesion would be most useful to make? Here's what I have so far. Warrior: He's kinda my main, has Koabd, but dont play him so much anymore. Monk: Trying to make him my main, attempting to run him through all 4 campaigns. Ritualist: He's beaten eotn and factions, havent touched him since. Paragon: Idk about this guy, he's only halfway through NF, but I think if I get bored with my monk I might give this guy a shot, always liked paragons for some reason Mesmer: This guys my main DoA guy, he's beat eotn and NF, but im not much for playing general PvE on him. Assassin: Once again, this is mainly just a guy I made for speedclears, but I wouldnt mind making him my main. Elementalist: Idk what to make of him, he's just kinda there on my account. haha Anyways, those are the 7 proffesions I have. Any suggestions as to what my 8th should be will be greatly appreciated. And not only that, but if anyone could give me some insight as to which character I should choose as my main title grinder would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! |

Uh-oh, a "What's your opinion" thread.
You're going to hear every profession listed that you don't have. Dervishes were recently buffed, in the last 3 months, I believe. I hear they're actually fun to play now. Oh, and necro minion masters are easier for players with the recently-added minion UI (works for spirits, too). Main title grinder is whichever one you have the most fun playing. All professions can do it. Last edited by Star_Jewel; Aug 09, 2011 at 06:01 PM // 18:01.. |

Why not make a Dervish and complete the set? They're fun to play and don't have the same feel as warriors when in the middle of battle.
Your main title grinder? Whichever Character you enjoy playing most. Simple as that. If you're going for GWAMM, it's going to take a while, so you might as well enjoy yourself in the process. But if you're just trying to finish titles for your HoM, You don't have to do them all on one Character since the HoM is account wide. |

Or just keep it as a flexible PvP slot, even if only for casual RA or JQ/FA/AB.

I'd play the warrior if you plan on hero-ing (it has titles already so why not) or the asssasin if you don't want to use heroes (easier grouping). It sounds like you're not a big fan of rit (I agree, spirits=boring). Paragons are boring in any setting (the usable skillset is very small), elementalists suck in HM. Rangers are underpowered. You don't like mesmers; you don't have a dervish or necro. Sounds like Dervish would be more of your playstyle since it is melee. For what it is worth, my opinion.
Make an El, Ranger, or Warrior in pre-searing Ascalon and work it to level 20. With all the new additions there, it can be entertaining and a bit challenging. As for your "main", pick one that has finished NF, it should have all heroes open to it. Experiment with team builds that will help you finish GWAMM with "ease". |

Agree on Pre-Searing now that it's much easier to get LDoA title. I did it on a ranger in less than 2 weeks, and I was playing casual.

Since you already have melee and spellcasters, the obvious choice is Ranger.
